Birgit Skarstein is a Norwegian professional rower and cross-country skier, born on February 10, 1989, in Trondheim, Norway. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest para-athletes of all time. Skarstein began her professional career with the Norwegian national teams for both sports and has won multiple titles, including four World Rowing Championship titles and the World Para Nordic Skiing Championship.
Skarstein is known for her incredible strength, endurance, and versatility. She has won numerous individual awards, including the Paralympic gold medal, and holds multiple records, such as being the first woman to win both summer and winter World Championship titles.
Off the field, Skarstein is also recognized for her advocacy for people with disabilities, making significant social contributions and inspiring millions worldwide.
