Chris Weinke is an American former professional football player, born on July 31, 1972, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is highly regarded for his college football career at Florida State University where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2000. Weinke began his professional career with the Carolina Panthers in 2001, and also played for the San Francisco 49ers before retiring in 2007.
Weinke is known for his strong arm, accuracy, leadership qualities, and his unique journey from professional baseball to college and then professional football. He has received numerous awards during his college career and holds records such as being the oldest player to win the Heisman Trophy.
