High School Career

Before joining West Virginia University (WVU), Colin McBee had an impressive career at University High in Morgantown, W.Va. He earned All-State Second-Team Honors and was named the Two Rivers Conference Player of the Year. As a senior, McBee helped his team to a 10-0 regular season. He showcased his dual-threat abilities by finishing with 30 rushing attempts for 785 yards and 21 touchdowns, while also leading his team with 116 tackles, along with four sacks and 16 tackles for loss. McBee was also a standout in wrestling, finishing second in the state, and a state discus champion, setting a school record with a throw of 156 feet.

 

2022 Season (Freshman)

In his freshman year, McBee redshirted, meaning he did not play in any games. This allowed him to focus on developing his skills and preparing for future seasons.

 

2023 Season (Redshirt Freshman)

In 2023, McBee earned Academic All-Big 12 Conference First-Team honors, a recognition he would continue to receive throughout his career. He played in five games, primarily adding depth as a fullback while also contributing to special teams. His best performance came in a game where he played in four special teams plays against Duquesne and Texas Tech. His efforts were recognized with the WVU Scout Team Offensive Champion award for his work during the TCU game and Scout Team Special Teams Champion awards for the Pitt and Baylor games.

 

2024 Season (Redshirt Sophomore)

During his redshirt sophomore year, McBee again earned Academic All-Big 12 Conference First-Team honors, reflecting his academic achievements alongside his athletic success. He appeared in three games and was awarded the WVU Scout Team Offensive Champion for his performance during the Cincinnati game.
