Johnny Unitas, born on May 7, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was an American professional football player. He is universally regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of American football. Unitas began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers but made his mark in the National Football League (NFL) with the Baltimore Colts, where he won multiple titles, including three NFL Championships and Super Bowl V.
Unitas was known for his excellent passing, field intelligence, and leadership ability. He won numerous individual awards, including three Most Valuable Player (MVP) titles, and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Off the field, Unitas was also known for his charitable contributions and his influence on the game of football.
