Lionel Messi is an Argentine professional soccer player, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time. Born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina, Messi joined FC Barcelona's youth academy, La Masia, at the age of 13. He made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2004 and quickly became a pivotal player for the club.
