Career

California Storm

  • Youth and Early Career: Adams was born and raised in San Francisco and joined California Storm's youth academy. She made her first-team debut for Storm in 2002.

Boston Breakers (first stint)

  • Early Success: Adams signed with Boston Breakers in 2003. Under the guidance of Pia Sundhage, she developed into one of the world's best forwards, winning two Women's Professional Soccer titles, a Women's United Soccer Association title, and her first FIFA World Player of the Year in 2008.

FC Gold Pride

  • Record-breaking Transfer: In 2009, Adams transferred to FC Gold Pride for what was then a record fee. Over the next two years, she became the club's all-time top scorer and won numerous titles, including the Women's Professional Soccer championship. 
    Individual Awards: At FC Gold Pride, Adams won two of her five FIFA World Player of the Year awards.

Western New York Flash

  • New Challenges: Adams joined Western New York Flash in 2011, seeking new challenges in WPS. During her time at Flash, she added another WPS title to her collection and continued to break records.

Boston Breakers (second stint)

  • Return to Boston: In 2014, Adams returned to Boston Breakers, reuniting with the club where she had significant early success. Despite mixed team success, her individual performances remained strong.

Portland Thorns FC
