Wayne Gretzky is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and coach, born on January 26, 1961, in Brantford, Ontario. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest ice hockey players of all time. Gretzky began his professional career with the Indianapolis Racers of the World Hockey Association (WHA) before moving to the Edmonton Oilers in 1978, where he won multiple Stanley Cup championships.
Gretzky is known for his extraordinary hockey intelligence, scoring ability, and versatility. He has won numerous individual awards, including nine Hart Trophies (MVP), and holds multiple records, such as the most goals and points in NHL history.
